Claudine Gay, the 30th President of Harvard University, has resigned after months of widespread criticism. This decision comes after an additional six charges of plagiarism were reported on by the Washington Free Beacon yesterday. Having taken over as university president in July of last year, her six-month tenure is the shortest in the almost 400 years of the University's existence.
Striking and yet not surprising that her resignation letter admits no wrongdoing and explicitly lays the grounds for martyrdom due to "racism." The Corporation letter says she "admitted missteps," but even that admission is not to be found in Gay's letter.
She flipped the race card. Her handling of the two black male scholars at Harvard was also alarming. One, Roland Fryer is an outstanding researcher. He should be reinstated at Harvard.
Harvard was established as a divinity school, by Puritan clergyman, John Harvard. He felt the need to uplift society through an elite institution. The moral leadership that Harvard provided benefited the country, so the school's status grew. Religion was always questioned however, skepticism is part of the faith and older wiser folks knew that it was a myth. It was a beneficial myth however, initiated by the Armenians, to protect innocent women and children and to benefit mankind. There was a healthy balance between devotion and skepticism among the young. This was a good balance, until postmodernists came along. They unleashed a cynical approach toward knowledge that had a corroding influence over the society (democracy, Christianity, capitalism all became corrupted). The Ivy Leagues were at the vanguard of promoting this fascist philosphy (combining power and knowledge). They had abandoned their roles as moral leaders.
Moral leadership is necessary within an elite institution. Without it, depravity reins. The college has gone from being a divinity school teaching Christian morality, to secular, to corrupt, to depraved. There is little worth keeping, from the perspective of the American people. You are not promoting the middle class, you are promoting the elites. To align with tyranical Middle Eastern and Communist governments that want to undo the West is evil. You can take their money and do their bidding, but don't expect to be loved by the American people. The West was built by moral people. It is being undone by shallow fools.
DEI is discriminatory. Almost everyone engages in some sort of plagiarism unless one is a uniquely original thinker. And with today’s software a lot will be uncovered. She was never qualified in first place.
Good news. Let us hope this is the beginning of Harvard's return to meritocracy and critical, honest debate.
