Excellent piece overall but re the reference to "foreign, multi-million dollar efforts to oust U.S. congressmen," the money and votes to oust those members of Congress were not "foreign" but came from *Americans* who were rightfully disgusted by the performance of those lawmakers. If you want to see "foreign" efforts have a careful look at who is behind the anti-Israel campaign on American campuses.

Thank you Elliott for sharing your experience. I am in agreement with Julius. Having witnessed fighting and unrest for 50+ years. I have asked myself the question many times, "How can people keep hating, and fighting another people." After posing this question to my Muslim friend in Malaysia, he answered saying when one people attacks another people, if they can not attack back, they wait. I asked they wait for what? He said, they wait until they are able to return an attack on the attackers. I asked, what if that takes 100 years, he said they will wait 100 years. I told him when they return the attack, it is not even the same people that attacked in the first place. Then it was all too clear. I told him you would have to teach your children to hate those other people, you would always have to perpetuate a hatred to the attacking people for generations. There is no forgiveness. there is no teaching of love and acceptance of all people. There will never be peace if you are teaching hatred, creating secret plans of hatred toward another people. Children are not born with hatred, they are taught hatred. There will only be peace when all people will seek forgiveness, acceptance, care for and love to all people. Allowing them freedom to live and pursue happiness in the manner they choose with the foundation of respect of life and love to everyone. So far, may be idealistic, that is the only solution, my heart could come up with.

Listen,

This conflict has been going on since Isaac and Ishmael 3000 years ago. The only way it will be solved is when Jesus comes back again. A two state solution will mean the end of Israel.

Was this event ok'ed by the Administration? If so, the administrator needs to be fired for antisemitic rethoric and this speaker terminated as a student or teacher. We cannot allow the preaching of hatred and killing for a religion nor its practioners. That is illegal under our constitutional laws.

The article reads like a 12 year old suburban whiteboy thinking they're doing undercover work. Maybe if the author spent less time rehearsing for their "gotcha" moment in Sever Hall and more time engaging with primary sources, they’d come across as someone who actually wants to contribute meaningfully to a critical conversation rather than bask in their own misplaced sense of superiority. Do better. Stop larping as disadvantaged.

This commentary, like so many pieces published by Salient, leaves me wondering "what's the point?" Is the point to look down your nose at all these retched and misguided souls who don't share your perspective? Maybe I am daft, but I don't think it would hurt of you actually wrote into these articles what you think should be done instead of (some crazy "liberal" fill in the blank is terrible). Complaining without suggesting solutions is a bit like whining. Personally, having witnessed this unchanging conflict for over 50 years, I am ready for there to be a solution. Surely the brilliant minds at Salient have something better to offer than pooh-poohing others for trying to do something.

After hopefully Israel wins this war which will involve some way of neutralizing Iran perhaps via regime change, the only way in the long term for there to be peace is for Muslims to stop teaching their children to hate and to kill non Muslims especially Jews. Moderate religious Muslims have to be encouraged to teach and practice an Islam without the hatred.

“Trying to do something.” What a lovely way of describing the efforts of pogromists.

Yeah. I think, there is plenty of that to go around from all sides. Not sure how much value the holier-than-thou approach adds.
